Kitchen Team

  • Join the Yawara team in Silverdale

    We're looking for an experienced and passionate Japanese Cuisine Chef to join our growing team at Yawara.

    We're seeking someone who takes pride in preparing quality food, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and can confidently manage kitchen service during busy periods.

    Alongside our ramen menu, you'll have the opportunity to prepare a range of simple Japanese dishes and contribute ideas for occasional blackboard specials.

    What you'll be doing

    • Preparing and serving ramen and Japanese dishes to a consistent standard.

    • Independently managing kitchen service during busy periods.

    • Organising food preparation, portion control and presentation.

    • Maintaining food safety, hygiene and kitchen organisation.

    • Monitoring ingredients, stock rotation and preparation requirements.

    • Contributing ideas for occasional blackboard specials.

    • Working closely with the kitchen team to maintain smooth service.

    What we're looking for

    • At least 2 years of commercial kitchen experience.

    • Ramen or Japanese cuisine experience is strongly preferred.

    • Confidence working independently during busy services.

    • Good organisation and attention to detail.

    • A positive, team-oriented attitude.

    • Weekend availability is essential.

  • Kitchen Assistant – Training Provided

    We're looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to support our kitchen team at our new Silverdale store.

    This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and wants to develop their skills in a Japanese restaurant. You'll help with everything from washing dishes and preparing ingredients to plating dishes and supporting our chefs during busy services.

    No professional kitchen experience is necessary. We're happy to train the right person.

    What you'll be doing

    • Washing dishes and keeping kitchen work areas clean and organised.

    • Assisting with basic food preparation and plating.

    • Preparing ingredients and garnishes under direction.

    • Supporting the chefs during busy lunch and dinner services.

    • Following food safety, hygiene and cleaning procedures.

    • Learning kitchen routines and Japanese food preparation techniques.

    What we're looking for

Front of House

  • Help lead front-of-house service and support the team during busy shifts.

    We're looking for an experienced and customer-focused Senior Front of House team member or Shift Supervisor to join our team at Yawara's new Silverdale store.

    This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hospitality, leads by example and can keep service running smoothly during busy periods. You'll support the front-of-house team, help resolve customer concerns and ensure every guest receives a welcoming and consistent experience.

    What you'll be doing

    • Leading front-of-house service during assigned shifts.

    • Supporting and guiding team members throughout service.

    • Welcoming guests, managing tables and coordinating orders.

    • Overseeing reservations, takeaway orders and customer enquiries.

    • Handling customer concerns professionally and escalating issues when needed.

    • Assisting with opening, closing, cleaning and service preparation.

    • Maintaining front-of-house presentation and service standards.

    • Communicating closely with the kitchen to keep service running smoothly.

    What we're looking for

    • Previous hospitality experience, ideally in a senior or supervisory role.

    • Strong communication and customer service skills.

    • Confidence leading a team during busy services.

    • Good organisation and problem-solving skills.

    • A calm, positive attitude under pressure.

    • Weekend availability is essential.

    Experience with staff training, cash handling, reservations and opening or closing procedures would be an advantage.
